Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

This Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancelling bookings made through the Faindastay platform. Both hosts and guests are expected to adhere to these guidelines.

2. Guest Cancellation - Standard Bookings

For standard bookings (less than 28 nights), the following cancellation terms apply:

  • More than 24 hours before check-in: Full refund minus service fees
  • Within 24 hours of check-in: 50% refund of the accommodation cost
  • After check-in or no-show: No refund

3. Guest Cancellation - Long-Term Bookings

For long-term bookings (28 nights or more), the following terms apply:

  • Before check-in: Full refund minus service fees if cancelled at least 7 days before check-in
  • Within 7 days of check-in: Refund of 50% of the first month's accommodation cost
  • After check-in: 30 days' notice required. Guest is responsible for payment up to 30 days after notice is given or until a new guest books, whichever comes first

4. Host Cancellation

Hosts who cancel a confirmed booking may face the following consequences:

  • Guest receives a full refund including all service fees
  • Host's calendar will be blocked for the cancelled dates
  • Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension
  • Host may be charged a cancellation fee of up to 10% of the booking value

5. Extenuating Circumstances

In cases of extenuating circumstances (natural disasters, government travel restrictions, serious illness, or death of a guest/host or immediate family member), both guests and hosts may be eligible for a full refund or penalty-free cancellation upon providing appropriate documentation.

6. Refund Processing

Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days:

  • Credit/debit card refunds: 5-10 business days
  • Mobile money refunds: 3-5 business days
  • Bank transfers: 7-10 business days

7. Disputes

If you believe a cancellation was handled incorrectly, please contact our support team at hello@faindastay.com within 14 days of the cancellation. We will review each case individually and work to reach a fair resolution.
