Service Fees & Payment Policy

1. Overview

Faindastay charges service fees to help cover the costs of running our platform, including customer support, secure payment processing, marketing, and platform development. This policy explains how fees are calculated and when payments are made.

2. Host Service Fee

Faindastay charges hosts a service fee of 2% on each confirmed booking. This fee is automatically deducted from the host's payout and covers:

  • Platform access and listing visibility
  • Secure payment processing
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Host protection insurance
  • Marketing and promotion of listings

3. Guest Service Fee

Guests are charged a service fee of 8-10% on top of the accommodation cost. The exact percentage varies based on factors such as booking duration and total cost. This fee is displayed before booking confirmation.

4. Payment Schedule for Hosts

Host payouts are processed as follows:

  • Standard bookings: Payment released 24 hours after guest check-in
  • Long-term bookings: Payment released monthly, 24 hours after each billing cycle begins
  • First-time hosts: Initial payout may take up to 5 additional business days for verification

5. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Mobile money (M-Pesa)

6. Currency & Conversion

All transactions are processed in Kenyan Shillings (KES). For international guests, currency conversion is handled at the current exchange rate plus a 2% conversion fee. Hosts receive payouts in their local currency.

7. Taxes

Hosts are responsible for determining and paying any applicable taxes on their earnings. Faindastay may be required to collect and remit certain taxes on behalf of hosts in accordance with local regulations. We recommend consulting a tax professional for guidance.
